#The Hoop Gods Jr All – American Camp: Middle School Standouts

The Hoop Gods Jr All American Camp takes place June 29th – 30th. The Camp, hosted by legendary Las Vegas trainer KG Grant, featured training and games. The players ranged from from class of 2025 all the way down to middle school participants. The event provided a great look at some young up and coming prospects. Here’s a look at the top Middle Schoolers from the Camp.

DJ Hunter 5’6 PG 2029

Couldn’t take my eyes off the Jitterbug PG. He plays with a calming control that is tangible. One of the quickest players end to end, but plays with enough pace to stop and start on a dime. Positioning himself to be one of the top players in his class throughout the upcoming season.

Michael Calderon 5’7 PF 2030

“Big Mike” as he was called, did big damage. A high IQ big, he was one of the top screen setters for the middle school division. Not only did he use his body tor free up teammates, he showed footwork, and hands with his ability to role, catch and finish in the interior.

Gio Chavarri 5’6 SG 2030

Chavarri played with good ball speed, racing down the court to finish transition breaks. His size, combined with his handle and full court finishing ability, made him one of the more easily identifiable players.

Marquis Yapi 5’9 2030

Yapi is a good looking young potential prospect. He was one of the bigger players on the court, however he moved his feet well, sliding them in interior defense and changing ends. He showed some rim protection ability as well, blocking several shots around the rim.

 Aiden Pring 5’6 SG 2031

The bespectacled Pring had an impact. He showed nice skills, including a little wiggle and finishing ability. He took home MVP honors for his division.

Marcus Harris 5’6 SG 2030

Harris was one of the more skilled Middle Schoolers I saw. He hit a deep three, which showed his range, and then got fancy on them with an Eastbay layup.

Josiah Johnson 5’6 SG 2031

Johnson played with decent fundamentals and showed some IQ. He completed a few tough baseline finishes, including a mid rang jumper. He was named MVP of his division.

Wes Walker 5’9 CG 2029

Walker has good positional size and knows how to use it. He got downhill and to the rim, displaying some advanced finishing moves around the basket.

Kairey Sampaio 5’8 2029

Sampaio has good size, and runs the floor well. He used his length and motor to remain active around the interior, scoring multiple times off offensive rebound putbacks.
