The Rebels new they got a good one when DJ Thomas signed with the school, now the rest of the conference knows as well. Thomas who was the 2022-23 Nevada Gatorade POY for Liberty High School was named Mountain West Preseason Freshman of the year during the Conference’s Media Day in Las Vegas. The 6’1 PG averaged over 22.1 points and 5.1 assist per game as a junior at Liberty High School. He was the State’s number 1 player in the class of 2024 according to Prephoops Nevada and reclassified to join the Rebels for the 2023-24 season.
