#GTE Summer Classic Recap: Top Bigs

#GTE Summer Classic Recap: Top Bigs

The GTE Summer Classic takes place July 12th – 14th in Corona California. The event, which features teams throughout the West Region, is being held at the Draft Facility. Opening night featured four rounds of games played on 5 courts. The set up inside the gym provided the perfect opportunity to see a ton of players at once. The event was home to several really good big men. Here’s a look at the top bigs from the camp.

Joseph Steele 6’5 PF Iso Elite CA 2024

The one thing that you know, is that when Steele is on the floor, he’s going to play hard. The rambunctious forward spent most of the weekend throwing his body around on the interior. It wasn’t rare that you would see him fighting for rebounds, or catching and finishing in traffic. The 2024 forward is still unsigned, and would make a perfect fit for a school needing a high motor big.

Jerimiah Parker 6’6 PF CO 2025

The more I watched of Parker, the more he began to grow on me. The physical lefty had one of the best plays of the event, grabbing the ball from a ground, coming to a standing position, before picking it up and dunking it home with two hands. He was one of the more active bigs of the event.

Nathan Ndelengo 6’11 C D3 Elite CA 2027

As far as prospects go, Ndelengo was so good that he was obvious. He’s just shy of 7 feet, however with his wingspan he plays like a true footer. The most impressive skill about the transfer from the Congo was his willingness to run the floor. He never missed an opportunity to chase down an offensive player, or hustle for a rebound. The ceiling is the sky for the incoming sophomore.

Christian Stewart 6’5 PF CA Los Angeles Elite 2026

Stewart was the best big body post I saw. The lefty unapolegetically used his frame to muscle opponents out the way, finishing around the rim. Don’t get it twisted, he isn’t all brute force, for a player of his size, he has terrific footwork, and utilized it several times while displaying back to the basket moves from the low post.

Jamal Ali 6’7 PF Tucson Spartans AZ 2025

Ali is a player that looks better the more and more I watch him play. The face up forward flashed a terrific combination of skill and athleticism during the weekend. He hammered home an impressive Alley Oop, took bigs off the bounce and was effective turning over his right shoulder, en route to putting together an impressive weekend performance.

Moshe Loucks 6’3 PF IE Rain CA 2027

IG: moshel33

You have to give Loucks credit for being one of the events top rebounders. He relentlessly attacked the glass, grabbing seemingly every offensive rebound for his team. He was the perfect example of a guy simply willing to outwork everyone. The interior presence was able to consistently get second and third chance opportunities for his squad.
