#GTE Summer Classic: Friday Night Standouts

The GTE Summer Classic takes place July 12th – 14th in Corona California. The event, which features teams throughout the West Region, is being held at the Draft Facility. Opening night featured four rounds of games played on 5 courts. The set up inside the gym provided the perfect opportunity to see a ton of players at once. Here’s a look at the guys that stood out under the Friday Night Lights.

Joaquin Tovera 5’10 PG Iso Elite 2026

IG: Joaquintovera

The more I see of Tovera, the more I love the diminutive PG’s game. He’s the quintessential jitterbug point guard, complete with handle and shiftiness, He did a terrific job of facilitating, getting into the lane and showing consistent finishing ability.

Nathan Ndelengo 6’11 C D3 Elite 2027

Let’s face it, when a 6’11 player enters the gym people are going to take notice. Add in the fact that he’s a rising sophomore that has only been in the state’s for a year and even more people will watch. Ndelengo, played with a high motor, chasing down plays on both sides of the ball right until the end of the game. His length and determination allowed him to block a ton of shots, while altering even more. He’s a surefire player to have on the radar moving forward.

Coleman Barron 6’6 PF Players Skills Academy 2028

I just couldn’t keep my eyes off Barron, and that was even before I found out that he was an incoming freshman. The 6’5 + forward played with a consistent motor, and showed tremendous hands, catching and finishing around the basket. His activity was beautiful to watch as he scored around the rim on several occasions in the game I watched.

Desmond Tetteh 6’2 SG Primo Soldiers 2025

IG: Kingdess_

Dess made a move early in the game that made me stop. He had some of the best wiggle that I saw on Friday Night, using a combination of a consistent handle, speed and quickness to defeat defenders. His ability to effortlessley get into the lane, put a tremendous amount of pressure on his defenders, allowing him to be one of the nights top standouts.

Elijah Camara 6’1 SG 1st Pick 2026

IG: 4xelijahh_

Camara was the perfect example of a player that forced you to watch. Every time I looked over at his court he was involved in a play, mostly, on the defensive end. The uber quick guard got his hands on a ton of deflections, while simultaneously turning offense into defense for his squad. He was one of the top overall defenders I saw on the night.
