Rebels Take On Falcons

Rebels Take On Falcons

3 Keys to UNLV evening their conference record

1) R-E-S-P-E-C-T – It’s easy when comming off tough matchups against ranked opponents, to overlook a team that sits below 500. The Rebels absolutely can’t do that tonight The Falcons are a team of veteran guys who run a specific system. The Rebels can’t get caught playing the record, or they could end up in a dog fight the same way CSU was, when they went to overtime against this same team.

2) Control the pace – It’s no secret, the Falcons play at one of the slowest tempo’s in the country, and while the Rebels have had half court success this season, they have a decided advantage when the game goes up and down. It will be imparative that they control tempo in this one.

3) Charity begins at home – The Rebels have had their struggles at the free throw line, or “Charity Stripe” as it’s called. That’s nothing compared to Air Force’s struggles at the line. The Falcons are one of the worse free throw shooting teams in the country, shooting just around 67%. This doesn’t mean the Rebels need to employ a hack a Falcon strategy, but they may want to think twice about giving up easy baskets around the rim.
