Rebels Looking To Finalize Schedule

Rebels slowly piecing together their 2023-2024 opponents.

UNLV’s season schedule is taking shape. The Rebels already have 7 games lined up, including two conference games. The early season schedule includes a road trip to Dayton, in a rematch of a game the Rebels won last season. They also have a matchup against ACC foe Florida St, giving the Rebels an opportunity to nab an important early season Non- Conference win. Perhaps the signature game on the schedule takes place on Dec 13, when UNLV host Big East power Creighton at Dollar Loan Center in Henderson. In addition to the non-conference games, the Rebels have locked down home and home dates against conference rival Air Force, on Jan 23rd and Feb 20th.

Last year, much was made about UNLV’s non conference schedule. Although the Rebels started 11-0 many scoffed at the lack of big name programs. They conveniently forget Washington St represented a power 5 conference, Dayton was a top 25 team, and So Miss won 25 games the year before. This season the Rebels are running into rosterfobia when it comes to scheduling, as power 5 teams are taking one look at their reloaded roster and declining to make a trip to Vegas. Rebel fans may want to get used to this because If by some miracle a West Coast Powerhouse like, UCLA or Arizona would decide to come, the game more than likely wouldn’t be held at Thomas and Mack anyway, effectively removing any homecourt advantage.
